Greetings, Over the last four years or so since I started working closely with refugees and immigrants, I have had an opportunity to meet and interact with a variety of folks with different background and experience.
On one hand, I have been humbled by the opportunity to share day-to-day life with so many refugee and immigrant families living in Louisville. I have cried with them, laughed with them, played with their kids and also prayed with the parents. These folks have become like members of my own family. They look up to me and also trustfully count on me for different purposes including interpretation, advice, and guidance.
On the other hand, a number of loving and caring folks have approached me with an open mind and hearts as well as willingness to learn, love and find out how they could be more supportive of my endeavors. It has been an honor and very inspiring for me to meet so many loving and caring folks in our communities who want to be a voice for the voiceless by gracefully learning, loving, encouraging and supporting their fellow brothers and sisters who simply just happens to be refugees and immigrants in our community.
After all, I was mindful that it truly takes a village to raise a child and hopeful that I could serve and continue to change so many lives only by creating a platform where folks on both sides that I talked about above could meet to learn, love and lead each other towards reaching their God’s granted highest potential.
I have no doubt that that there are so many folks in our communities who are willing to be a part of this great endeavor and I believe that joining hands and partnering with others will lead us on a path that will make such great impact in so many lives through See Forward Ministries.
